CWI/ Certified Welding Inspector/UT Testing

The Certified Welding Inspector/UT Testing role is essential in upholding the company's reputation for excellence, ensuring all products meet rigorous specifications and quality standards. Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections of machines and fabricated weldments at various production stages to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Verify vendor-supplied parts and materials against detailed plans and specifications.
• Collaborate with production teams to perform timely inspections at designated hold points, supporting efficient workflow.
• Document findings from Visual, Magnetic Particle, Dye Penetrant, and Ultrasonic Testing in official inspection reports.
• Interpret complex blueprints and engineering specifications to determine material, dimensional, and NDT requirements.
• Measure and verify dimensions using precision instruments, including length, height, diameter, angles, arcs, and radii.
• Generate detailed inspection reports and maintain comprehensive welding logs.
• Perform dimensional inspections of components and assemblies, including first-run, in-process, and final parts.
• Calibrate and test inspection equipment to ensure accuracy and performance.
• Conduct hardness testing and maintain calibration records for welding machines and inspection gauges.
• Develop and maintain accurate Welder Continuity Logs.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support plant operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent vocational training/experience.
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required.
• Minimum of one year of Ultrasonic Testing experience, with knowledge of AWS D1.1 and AWS D1.5 Codes.
• Completion of one year of technical school or five years of experience in heavy steel fabrication.
• Demonstrated expertise in Visual and NDT inspections of fabricated weldments.
• Experience in heavy construction machining or related industrial sectors preferred.
• Ability to interpret complex blueprints, technical documents, and manuals.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Proficiency in basic mathematics, including fractions, decimals, and trigonometry.
