Warehouse AssistantAssist in receiving, storing, issuing and delivering of equipment, tools, and supplies and maintaining inventory control.Education/Certification: High School diploma or equivalent Clear and valid Texas driver's licenseSpecial Knowledge/Skills:Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneouslyAbility to understand and follow detailed written or verbal instructionsAbility to learn new softwareAbility to keep organized both physically and digitallyAbility to perform basic mathAbility to communicate effectively with othersExperience: Warehousing or inventory experience preferredMajor Responsibilities and Duties:Verify accuracy of shipments and record any discrepancies or damage.Receive and input data into database. Database is kept in TEAMS/Prologic.Tag fixed assets and input data into TEAMS/Prologic software.Keep accurate logs of tagged assets.Assist in district-wide inventory.Load and unload delivery trucks as needed. Unpack items and inspect shipments for damage and defects.Fill requisitions from stock items. Verify accuracy of orders pulled.Pickup and deliver materials as needed.Sort and store items according to established inventory systems and procedures.Assist in conducting physical inventory of equipment, tools, and supplies and verify against inventory control totals. Maintain inventory records.Requisition additional supplies from purchasing department as directed.Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and carrying. Operate tools, equipment, and vehicles according to prescribed safety procedures.Correct unsafe conditions in work area and promptly report any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor.Inspect vehicles and equipment following established inspection procedures to identify needed repairs.Other duties as assigned.Equipment Used:Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals; forklift or hydraulic lifting equipment; hand truck, dolly, and pallet jack; small hand tools; light truck or van.Working Conditions:Mental Demands:Maintain emotional control under stressPhysical Demands:Heavy lifting, light carrying, reaching above shoulderRepetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; frequent walking, climbing, grasping, wrist flexion/extension, and overhead reaching; frequent drivingProlonged use of computersEnvironmental Demands:Work outside and inside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces; frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust, toxic chemicals and materials, noise, and vibration; work around moving objects or vehicles; may work alone; occasional prolonged or irregular hoursWorks around machinery with moving partsThe above statements describe the general purpose and responsibilities assigned to the job and are not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills that may be required.
