Location: Tampa, FL | Work Model: Hybrid | Travel: Approximately 25%

A large, privately held organization is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to join its internal audit team. This individual will play an important role in evaluating operational processes, strengthening internal controls, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and mitigate risk across a broad network of distribution and production facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with audit leadership to assess business risks, establish audit priorities, and develop audit scopes and testing procedures.
• Plan and execute operational audits, with additional exposure to financial and compliance-related reviews as needed.
• Evaluate internal controls, business processes, and operational procedures to assess design effectiveness and identify potential control gaps.
• Perform internal control assessments and advisory reviews across various departments and business functions.
• Communicate audit observations and recommendations to process owners and management, collaborating on practical corrective action plans.
• Prepare clear, well-supported audit reports outlining findings, control effectiveness, and opportunities to strengthen business processes.
• Manage audit assignments independently while maintaining effective communication with stakeholders across the organization.
• Travel to distribution and production facilities approximately 25% of the time, with limited international travel possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with 2–4 years of relevant experience in internal audit, public accounting, or consulting.
• Alternatively, a high school diploma or equivalent with 5–7+ years of directly relevant experience.
• Experience assessing internal controls, evaluating business processes, and executing audit procedures.
• Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with stakeholders at various levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• CPA, CIA, and/or CFE certification.
• Familiarity with data analytics and reporting tools such as Power BI, Alteryx, Tableau, ACL, or Cognos.
