Senior Accountant

About the Role

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing monthly and year-end financial statements, supporting the close process, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and applicable regulations.

The ideal candidate is analytical, highly organized, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger activities and maintain accurate financial records.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations, including bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts.
• Lead and support the monthly and year-end closing process.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepaid expenses, and account analyses.
• Analyze financial results and investigate variances.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management activities as needed.
• Prepare schedules and documentation for external and internal audits.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting.
• Assist with tax filings and other regulatory reporting as needed.
• Collaborate with finance, operations, payroll, and other departments to resolve accounting issues.
• Perform other accounting and financial analysis duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Experience with general ledger accounting and month-end close processes.
• Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial analysis.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
