Job Summary:
A Pediatric Operating Room (OR) Nurse position is available in Madison, Wisconsin. This role involves providing specialized care for pediatric surgical patients within a pediatric surgical and trauma unit. Candidates are required to bring their licensing documentation on the first day. The position is scheduled for seven days a week, with a shift schedule of 10 hours per day, and candidates must be available to work on-call shifts every 6-8 weekends.

Job Details:

• Minimum Hours Per Week: 40 hours
• Shift Schedule: 1x a week, Monday through Thursday. On-call required 1x every 6-8 weekends.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association (AHA) only, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Required Qualifications: Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact RN license, 2 years of recent acute care experience in pediatric surgical or trauma settings, Epic electronic medical record (EMR) experience.
• Additional Qualifications: Pediatric OR experience, ambulatory OR experience, trauma level II experience, blood and blood products administration, and a variety of surgical procedures listed in the skills section.
• Vaccinations: Flu vaccine required; COVID-19 vaccine not required.
• Required Skills: Administration of blood and blood products, Ambulatory OR procedures, various surgical and procedural skills as detailed.
• Onboarding: Pass/Fail cardiac interpretation exam with strict criteria, including two attempts for adult and pediatric telemetry exams.
• Notes: The role involves operational needs including float as required. Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted.
