Responsibilities include conducting assessments, diagnosing and treating medical conditions, prescribing medications, managing chronic illnesses, responding to medical emergencies, and collaborating with detention staff and healthcare personnel to ensure appropriate patient care. The Nurse Practitioner is also responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing medical protocols, clinical guidelines, and standards of care for nursing staff. This position provides clinical leadership and support to a 24/7 nursing team while practicing in accordance with Oklahoma law and maintaining the highest professional standards of practice. Key Responsibilities Patient Assessment & Treatment Conduct comprehensive physical assessments and medical evaluations Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and laboratory results Develop and implement treatment plans Prescribe medications and therapies within scope of practice Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed Clinical Leadership & Oversight Develop, implement, and maintain medical protocols, standing orders, and clinical guidelines for nursing staff Provide clinical consultation and support to LPNs during routine and emergent situations Review patient care, treatment plans, and medication management practices for quality and compliance Ensure nursing staff operate within their scope of practice and according to established protocols Assist with training, education, and competency development of healthcare staff Correctional Healthcare Services #J-18808-Ljbffr
