Peer Support Specialist

Peer Support Specialist – Integrated Care Location: Greeley, CO | Salary: $17.60 - $24.59 per hour (Full‑time) Responsibilities Provide direct behavioral health services to clients under supervision. Utilize lived experience and recovery‑oriented practices to model hope, resilience, and coping strategies. Collaborate with therapists and clinical team to coordinate care and support treatment goals. Assist clients in accessing benefits, community resources, and supportive services. Identify barriers to recovery, recognize warning signs, and build health habits to reduce relapse. Coach clients with practical life skills, problem‑solving, activities of daily living. Promote medication awareness and assist in developing wellness/crisis plans (SAMHSA tools, psychiatric advance directives). Provide encouragement and support to clients and families; advocate in schools, nursing facilities, healthcare systems, and family environments. Lead or support social, recreational, peer‑support, or consumer‑run groups that foster connection. Maintain accurate, timely documentation in progress notes and electronic health records. Qualifications Must hold a high school diploma or GED. Experience with mental health, substance use, or co‑occurring conditions, either personal or relational, is required. Active engagement in a personal recovery or resilience plan for at least one year. Strong empathy, lived experience, and passion for supporting others. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively. Strong motivation to support and inspire others in recovery. Respect for individual strengths, independence, and self‑determination.
