Aprio Advisory Group, LLC is a progressive, fast-growing firm looking for a Senior Manager to join their dynamic team. Aprio is seeking a Senior Manager to lead assurance engagements for construction contractors and real estate developers, owners, and operators. Contractors and developers live with a particular kind of unknown: revenue that depends on estimates, jobs that shift mid-stream, sureties and lenders who need answers quickly, and capital structures that rarely stay simple.Your primary focus will be in construction and real estate. You may support engagements in other industries as the practice needs, but your specialty is the reason we are hiring.Responsibilities:Engagement and client management:Lead multiple audit, review, and other assurance engagements concurrently, from planning and risk assessment through final review and delivery.Serve as the primary point of contact for an assigned book of clients, and build relationships that extend past the engagement calendar.Own technical quality, performing final review of workpapers, financial statements, and other client deliverables before partner sign-off.Manage engagement economics, including budgets, work in process, billing, and realization, and raise scope changes early rather than at the end.Communicate clearly and often with partners, team members, and clients on expectations, status, findings, and open items.Research and document technical positions, and help clients understand new standards before they take effect.Supervise and delegate across all staff levels, matching work to the right person and keeping engagements moving.Business development Take an active role in marketing the firm's services, contributing to proposals, and new business wins.Build a network of referral sources, including attorneys, bankers, sureties, and other advisors in your industry.Recognize cross-serving opportunities across tax, advisory, client accounting services, and wealth management, and bring the right Aprio team to the table.Represent Aprio in industry associations, at conferences, and through thought leadership.Team development Coach, develop, and energize associates, senior associates, and managers on your engagements.Deliver candid, timely feedback and act as a counselor to less experienced team members.Contribute to training in your industry specialty, and help raise technical capability across the practice.Support recruiting and retention by helping build a team people want to stay onQualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting or a closely related field.Active CPA license.Seven or more years of current or recent public accounting experience, with a concentration in audit and assurance.Demonstrated record of managing, coaching, and developing staff accountants.Strong analytical skills applied to financial statements and other financial information.Effective written and verbal communication skills with clients and colleagues.Initiative and sound judgment, with a willingness to lead, decide, and work independently.High standard of professional integrity and ethics.Industry Qualifications — Construction and Real Estate:Five or more years of assurance experience concentrated in construction contractors and real estate developersWorking knowledge of revenue recognition for long-term construction contracts under ASC 606, including over- and under-billings, estimated cost to complete, and contract modifications.Experience with work-in-process schedule analysis and job cost systems.Familiarity with surety and bonding requirements, and with the reporting sureties and lenders expect.Experience auditing entities with debt covenants, construction loans, guarantees, and joint venture or partnership structures.Working knowledge of ASC 842 leases, ASC 810 consolidation and variable interest entities.Preferred Qualifications:Experience presenting to boards, audit committees, owners, or lenders.Experience with data analytics or audit automation tools.$136,500 - $228,000 a yearThe salary range for this opportunity is stated above. As such, an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of the range, and in certain circumstances, may wind up being outside of the listed salary range.
