Role Description This contract, on-site Licensed Electrician role is based in Chicago, IL. The Licensed Electrician will install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in commercial and residential settings, following all relevant codes and safety standards. Daily responsibilities include reading and interpreting blueprints and diagrams, performing inspections, diagnosing issues, and carrying out troubleshooting and corrective actions. The role involves coordinating with project managers and other trades, documenting work performed, and ensuring compliance with local and national electrical regulations. The individual will also be responsible for maintaining tools and materials, adhering to job site safety procedures, and communicating clearly with clients and team members. Qualifications Strong foundational knowledge of electricity and electrical principles, with the ability to apply this knowledge safely and accurately in various environments. Hands‑on experience with electrical work, including installation of wiring, panels, fixtures, and devices in residential and commercial settings. Proficiency in maintenance & repair of electrical systems, including routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs. Skilled in troubleshooting electrical issues, identifying root causes, and implementing effective solutions in a timely manner. Background or familiarity with electrical engineering concepts as they relate to system design, load calculations, and code compliance. Valid electrician license for the State of Illinois and thorough knowledge of NEC and local electrical codes. Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety, including use of PPE and adherence to OSHA and company safety standards. Ability to work on‑site in varying conditions, lift and carry equipment, and perform tasks that may require standing, bending, or climbing. Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, supervisors, and team members.
