Personal Lines Underwriter

Reviewing and analyzing applications for personal lines coverage, the full-time Personal Lines Underwriter will determine policy eligibility, manage inbound calls and chats from agents and clients, and maintain strong agent relationships while working onsite. Key responsibilities Evaluate applications, inspections, and endorsements to make informed risk selection decisions Process cancellations, reinstatements, and endorsements while ensuring compliance with underwriting standards Provide expert guidance to agents on policy forms, coverage options, and underwriting processes Required qualifications Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred Three to five years of underwriting experience in Personal Lines, particularly homeowners General knowledge of insurance statutes, regulations, and policies Active 2-20 or 4-40 license, or industry designation such as CPCU or CIC preferred Strong knowledge of Property/Casualty insurance underwriting principles
