McKenney Home Care is seeking an experienced, dependable MALE Live-In Caregiver, HHA, or CNA for a long-term private-duty assignment with a male client living with advanced Alzheimer’s disease.

This is a unique opportunity for a caregiver who is comfortable providing consistent one-on-one support, building a strong relationship with the client and family, and traveling extensively throughout the year.

Assignment & Travel Expectations
The anticipated schedule may include:

• Approximately 6–7 months per year in Naples, Florida
• Approximately 3–4 months per year in California
• Additional travel during the year, including Boston and international destinations
• Domestic and international travel aboard the family’s private aircraft
• A valid passport is required
• Flexibility with scheduling and travel dates is essential

The ongoing live-in schedule is expected to be primarily Monday through Friday , although some weeks may follow a Tuesday through Saturday schedule or vary based on the family’s travel and care needs.

About the Client
The client has advanced Alzheimer’s disease and requires an experienced caregiver who is comfortable supporting someone with significant cognitive impairment.

The family is looking for a caregiver who can develop strong rapport with the client and provide consistent, respectful support while traveling and at home. The client is seeking a male companion-style caregiver based on his individual care needs and family preferences with vast experience with DEMENTIA.

Care Responsibilities May Include

• Dementia and Alzheimer’s support
• Companionship and meaningful engagement
• Redirection, reassurance, and maintaining familiar routines
• Assistance with activities of daily living as outlined in the care plan
• Mobility and safety support
• Meal preparation and hydration support
• Light housekeeping and laundry
• Medication reminders as permitted by the care plan
• Observation and reporting of changes in condition or behavior
• Maintaining a calm, structured, and safe environment
• Accompanying the client and family during domestic and international travel
• Communicating regularly with the family and McKenney Home Care team

Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:

• Experienced in professional dementia or Alzheimer’s care
• Comfortable with advanced-stage cognitive impairment
• Experienced with live-in or extended private-duty assignments
• Calm, patient, attentive, and adaptable
• Professional and discreet in a private family environment
• Comfortable traveling frequently and for extended periods
• Able to adjust to changing schedules and locations
• Interested in building a long-term relationship with one client and family

Requirements

• Previous professional caregiving experience required
• Dementia/Alzheimer’s care experience strongly preferred
• HHA certificate, Florida CNA license, or strong professional caregiving background
• Valid passport and ability to travel domestically and internationally
• Valid Driver’s License
• Current Auto Insurance
• Reliable Transportation
• Current hands-on CPR certification, or willingness to obtain
• TB screening within the required timeframe or qualifying chest X-ray
• Eligibility for AHCA Level 2 background screening, or willingness to complete the required screening:
• Dependable attendance, strong communication, and professional conduct

Interview & Selection Process
Because of the long-term and travel-based nature of this assignment, selected candidates will participate in an additional client-matching process, including an interview with the client’s wife and a McKenney Home Care team member before placement.
