Java Software Developer

Salary: $90,000 - 130,000 per year Requirements:

• Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, plus at least five years of professional application development experience; equivalent practical experience may be considered.
• Exposure to Java-based web technologies and frameworks.
• Advanced SQL skills and knowledge of relational database design.
• Hands-on experience with modern version control systems such as Git.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
• Initiative and ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while managing deliverables with supervision.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and detail-oriented skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly and comply with data privacy regulations such as HIPAA.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including effective collaboration with technical and non-technical teams.
• Preferred: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Preferred: Experience developing applications with modern languages such as Java, C#, or Python, and working with databases and SQL.
• Preferred: Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Preferred: Familiarity with healthcare or insurance systems, including claims processing, enrollment, or regulatory compliance.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or green card holder.

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, high-performing, HIPAA-compliant software solutions.
• Work with business stakeholders to turn complex needs into scalable, maintainable technical specifications.
• Manage deliverables with minimal supervision and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Lead and contribute to estimation activities, including story pointing and backlog refinement, to support planning and predictable delivery.
• Mentor developers and participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and agreed-upon processes and best practices.
• Assess and integrate third-party technologies when appropriate.
• Promote modern engineering practices aligned with our direction, including automation, DevOps, CI/CD pipeline development, and infrastructure as code.
• Contribute to cloud migration and modernization initiatives as appropriate.
• Support application performance, security, and compliance through proactive monitoring and testing.
• Create and maintain technical documentation covering architecture, APIs, deployments, systems, and processes to support knowledge sharing and onboarding.
• Help shape system architecture and team- and department-level technical decisions, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, scalability, and maintainability.
• Provide on-call support when needed and perform other assigned duties.
