Manufacturing Engineer – CNC
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Location: Elk Grove Village, IL
Salary: $85,000 - $115,000
Work Schedule: Onsite, Monday through Friday

In this dynamic role, you will develop, program, and refine vertical and horizontal turning processes, taking ownership of cycle time reductions, quality robustness, and scalable production readiness. Your hands-on experience with multi-axis turn-mill platforms and your ability to collaborate closely with operations and engineering teams will be essential in maintaining our standards of excellence.

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of manufacturing engineering or CNC programming experience focused on turning
• Expertise in vertical and horizontal turning processes
• Proficiency in CNC programming using TopSolid or comparable CAM systems
• Strong knowledge of cutting tool selection, speeds/feeds optimization, GD&T interpretation, and blueprint reading
• Proven support of production environments with the ability to troubleshoot machining, tooling, and quality issues
• Ability to work directly with operators and machinists to resolve technical challenges

Nice to Have Skills:

• Turn-mill or mill-turn programming experience
• Background in contract machining or high-mix production settings
• Experience in aerospace or regulated manufacturing environments
• Fixture and work holding design skills
• Knowledge of process validation and FAI support
• Exposure to automation or lights-out manufacturing strategies

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Relevant technical degree or certifications in manufacturing or mechanical engineering
• 5+ years of progressive experience in CNC machining and process development

Other Requirements:

• Willingness to support quoting and manufacturability assessments
• Familiarity with industry standards such as AS9100
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced setting dedicated to continuous improvement
