Job Description

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Safety Specialist to implement and manage Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs for civil construction projects. The role focuses on OSHA/MSHA compliance, jobsite inspections, risk assessments, safety training, incident investigations, and corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor daily EHS programs and safety procedures.
\n
• Conduct jobsite inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments.
\n
• Identify workplace hazards and implement corrective measures.
\n
• Conduct new-hire safety orientations and ongoing employee training.
\n
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, and applicable safety regulations.
\n
• Investigate incidents, analyze trends, and develop preventive actions.
\n
• Lead site safety committees and ergonomic programs.
\n
• Track safety metrics and report findings to leadership.
\n
• Promote safety awareness and continuous improvement.
\n
• Travel approximately 75–90% to construction project sites.
\n

Required Qualifications

\n
• 5 years of safety experience in civil construction.
\n
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and risk assessment.
\n
• OSHA 30 certification.
\n
• CPR/First Aid certification.
\n
• Strong communication, leadership, and training skills.
\n
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
\n
• Strong problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and organizational skills.
\n
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, construction software, and learning management systems.
\n

Education

• A bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health, management, or a related field is preferred
