Title: Athletic Academic Coordinator-Football Duke University seeks applicants for the role of Athletic Academic Coordinator. Qualified applicants will commit to the holistic delivery of academic services, provide monitoring and academic support for a case load of student-athletes, and assist in the academic coaching of student-athletes. The athletic academic coordinator will work with a select number of football student athletes and one other athletic team. Qualified applicants will commit to consistent and open communication with coaches and staff and adherence to NCAA, conference and institutional regulations. Essential Functions: · Utilize research-based learning strategies to identify and implement appropriate academic interventions to improve student outcomes with reading, writing, time management, and study skills. · Counsel students on matriculation/graduation requirements, registration, and institutional policies.

• Participate in recruiting visits with prospective student-athletes.
• Maintain knowledge of NCAA and institutional rules concerning continuation and

eligibility requirements. · Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes; assess student-athlete academic performance and its impact on NCAA/institutional progress toward degree and eligibility. · Meet with first year and at-risk student-athletes weekly to aid in transition to Duke. · Refer student-athletes to campus and athletics department resources when appropriate (Ex: Tutoring, Writing Studio, Academic Resource Center, etc).

• Will serve as academic coordinator for one additional assigned sport.
• Work with academic advisors and deans to support student-athletes in their

Duke experience.

• Communicate regularly with coaches and other support staff of assigned sport.
• Other duties as assigned.
