Security Operations Center Manager Job Number: 2345188 Location: Eden Prairie, MN (Optum Headquarters, Onsite) This role will lead the SOC team in Minneapolis, overseeing Operators and Analysts, managing crises, ensuring effective execution of security operations, coordinating operational handoffs with global partners, and overseeing onboarding and training programs. Primary Responsibilities Lead and manage a team of SOC Operators and Analysts, ensuring effective monitoring and response to security events. Oversee crisis management efforts, including coordination with internal stakeholders during critical incidents. Communicate regularly with department leadership to provide updates on security posture, incidents, and operational metrics. Manage team performance through regular evaluations, coaching, and development plans. Coordinate operations handoff to global security partners to ensure continuity and coverage across time zones. Execute onboarding processes for new SOC personnel, ensuring alignment with operational standards and protocols. Oversee training programs to maintain and enhance the skills and capabilities of the SOC team. Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations related to security operations. Support executive protection and event security planning as needed. Work a rotating weekend schedule with two other managers to support a 7‑day operating model. Required Qualifications High School Diploma / GED Minimum age 18 3+ years experience in SOC, intelligence, or corporate security role, with at least 2+ years in a leadership capacity Experience in crisis management and incident response Understanding of OSINT tools, platforms, and methodologies Leadership, communication, and analytical skills Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment with discretion and professionalism Full‑time (40 hours/week) Saturday–Sunday, flexibility to work any 8‑hour shift during 6am–7pm, and occasional overtime as needed Preferred Qualifications Certifications such as ASIS CPP, PCI, or similar Experience supporting executive protection or event security operations Experience with performance management and team development Knowledge of travel risk management platforms and global threat landscapes Familiarity with global security operations and communication Benefits Pay ranges from $91,700 to $163,700 annually, based on local labor market, education, experience, and certifications.
