Facilities Specialist

Under the direction of the Maintenance HVAC Lead, the Facilities Specialist will participate in projects and day-to-day operations of work in repair, maintenance, coordination of contractors, security of the buildings and grounds. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Involved in adjusting HVAC controls/systems and managing facility security system access controls Involved in working with outside contractors for all building and grounds services Check and monitor buildings and grounds on a continuous basis for potential hazards and security issues; handles security concerns, and roofing issues. Assist with purchasing goods and services, getting multiple bids for each project Follow safety rules and keep work areas in clean and orderly condition. Fix unsafe conditions and perform all duties in a safe manner. Serve as an active member of the Safety team working hand in hand with the EHS Specialist. Manage plant waste materials, including hazardous wastes. Must understand and follow waste management requirements for handling hazardous, nonhazardous, universal and other wastes. Skills and Experience High School Diploma or GED Required 3-5 years of experience in facilities or maintenance Proven ability to work with vendors and contractors Proven ability to Detail Oriented with the ability to Multi-task Organizational Culture Work safely and follow rules and guidelines for safe work Reporting to work on time and with a positive attitude Responsible for staying focused on tasks at hand Being responsible for work performance and completing tasks throughout the day Maintains a good working relationship with co-workers Support a positive and steady workflow through the company Works with a sense of urgency when needed Support, coach or mentor co-workers when needed Positively support change throughout the company Physical Work Conditions Must be able to work in a hot environment Must be able to lift varying weights Must be able to stand and walk for up to 12 hours per day Must be able to wear personal protective equipment when required *Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
