About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Nursing License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role. ACLS BLS NIHSS Neuro and Trauma Care experience Description: Progressive care unit with 44 beds. Staff includes 2 CNC/Charge Nurses, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, and 1 HUC on each shift. Patient ratios are 4:1 at grid and 5:1 stretched. Equipment includes IV pumps, Skylift, PCA pumps, chest tubes, trachs, and patient lifts. Electronic Medical Record system is Cerner. Typical procedures performed include neuro and spinal checks, C-Collar placement, TLSO braces, chest tube insertion, PCA pump management, IV infusions, lumbar drain placement, and feeding tube placement. Blood transfusions are also conducted on the unit. Ideal candidates should be team players who are patient-focused. Floating to stepdown and med-surg units may occur. Every other weekend is required.
