Responsibilities

This role is responsible for supporting purchasing activities for our manufacturing and production-support operations. This position manages the complete purchasing cycle for raw materials, manufactured components, maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) supplies, subcontracted services, and other operational needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, supply chain management, or a related field preferred;
  equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
• Three or more years of purchasing or procurement experience preferred.
• Experience working with ERP or MRP systems;
  experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills when working with suppliers and internal teams.
• Strong negotiation and supplier-management skills.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Basic understanding of applicable industry standards.
• Familiarity with common steel grades, product forms, and basic metallurgical properties is preferred.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
• Ability to move or lift up to 50+ lbs.
• Ability to reach, grasp, hold, push, pull, bend, twist, squat, climb, kneel.
• Ability to utilize hand/eye coordination.
• Capability to stand for prolonged periods of time
• Initial preparation and issuance of Request for Quotations (RFQs) for a wide range of commodities
• Process modifications to terms and conditions of purchase agreements
• Perform commercial analysis on suppliers to develop more efficient processes and cost-effective solutions

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent equivalent experience in purchasing, inventory, or supply chain management
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
