Orthopaedic Physician-Family Medicine/Sports Medicine Job Title: Orthopaedic Physician-Family Medicine/Sports Medicine Requisition Number: FE04814 Department: 7H859: Orthopaedic Surgery Location: Lexington, KY Job Summary The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine is seeking a physician faculty member to teach students and residents of the Orthopaedic Primary Care Sports Medicine service, as well as provide care for the patients on this service. The physician faculty will supervise medical students assigned to the Orthopaedic service, as well as supervise and educate residents in the care of patients with Orthopaedic Primary Care Sports Medicine related diagnosis. This position will also be responsible for establishing protocols and critically evaluating outcomes as related to orthopaedic primary care sports medicine patients, and will serve on applicable University and College of Medicine committees as assigned. The preferred candidate will have a demonstrated ability in clinical teaching, as well as the ability to share responsibility for administration of the Ortho Primary Care Sports Medicine program. Responsibilities Teach medical students and residents in Orthopaedic Primary Care Sports Medicine. Provide patient care within the Orthopaedic Primary Care Sports Medicine service. Supervise medical students and residents. Establish protocols and evaluate outcomes for orthopaedic primary care sports medicine patients. Serve on University and College of Medicine committees as assigned. Qualifications Medical Degree or equivalent. Completion of residency and specialty fellowship training in Orthopaedic Primary Care Sports Medicine. Board certification or eligibility in Orthopaedic Primary Care Sports Medicine. Eligible for license to practice medicine in Kentucky. Demonstrated ability in clinical teaching.
