Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) - Barnes

Full-Time Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) – Barnes-Jewish Hospital (St. Louis, MO) – BJH CDL South and BJH CDL CAM. The role includes a $7,500 sign‑on bonus for eligible candidates. Position Details Day Shift Hours: 4–10 hour shifts per week (7 am‑5:30 pm) with rotating days off. Paid Saturday Rotation: approximately once a month, 8 hr shift 07:30‑16:00 with additional day off during the week. Closed on Sundays and all major holidays. No after‑hours call. Performs transthoracic echocardiography exams for inpatient and outpatient settings. Uses GE E95 machines, PICOM Imaging/Reporting system, EPIC platform. Imaging modalities include transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress transthoracic echocardiography, and 3‑D echocardiography, as well as transplant heart and lungs. Responsibilities Perform complex echocardiography exams at various locations throughout the academic campus. Evaluate all aspects of cardiovascular patient clinical assessment, recognize abnormalities, and review relevant patient history. Apply independent clinical judgement to ensure appropriate anatomical, pathophysiological, and clinical conditions are captured. Acquire advanced modalities as trained: 3‑D, right‑heart strain, TAPSE, PISA, transcatheter pre/post valvular repair/replacement, HOCM, etc. Communicate with the healthcare team, review examination images, synthesize results, prepare preliminary findings, and support interpreting physician echocardiographer. Minimum Requirements Associate’s Degree or Trade School equivalency. Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) certification. Preferred Qualifications Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification. Experience performing 3‑D echocardiography, transcatheter valvular procedures, or transplant imaging.
