Student Ministries Pastor

About the Role Gordon Heights Baptist Church located in Cairo, GA is seeking a Student Ministries Pastor to join our ministry team. We are committed to being an evangelistic church that reaches all neighbors, all nations, and all generations with the gospel. As the Student Ministries Pastor, you will oversee the individual spiritual growth of the students and children within the ministry at Gordon Heights. This starts from before they begin a relationship with Jesus in Pre‑K, through their continual maturity as they graduate high school. The Student Ministries Pastor role includes leading our Youth and Children’s Ministries, guiding, teaching, and growing their love for Christ and others while modeling grace, responsibility, and accountability. Responsibilities Oversee the spiritual growth of students and children from Pre‑K through high‑school graduation. Lead Youth and Children’s Ministries, guiding students in 6th–12th grade through weekly Bible studies. Plan and conduct summer camp, local mission opportunities, and community outreach events to connect students with the gospel. Lead and mentor an established team of Children’s Ministry volunteers, guiding them as needed. Plan and coordinate camps, Vacation Bible School (VBS), and other annual activities. Collaborate with parents to disciple their children and minister to unchurched/unbelieving families. Ensure a safe, healthy, and fun environment for all ministry participants. Work closely with the Senior Pastor in many ministry areas, and be able to fill the pulpit in the pastor’s absence. Qualifications Called, energetic individual with a passion and calling for ministry in this area. Strong Christian leadership that is relational and modeled on biblical principles. Exemplary communication skills and a deep desire to help others know and follow Jesus. Ability to lead students aged 6 and older and manage volunteer teams. Organizational skills necessary for planning and coordinating events. Willingness to support the Senior Pastor and fill in at the pulpit when needed. Our church is Southern Baptist in values and doctrine. We adhere to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. We run 100+ in worship attendance and presently have a good core group of active youth and children.
