Senior Business Systems Consultant (FinOps)

AbbVie seeks a Senior Business Systems Consultant to lead FinOps analysis and cloud financial management across the enterprise. The role partners with senior leadership to optimize cloud spending, improve cost transparency, and align cloud investments with business outcomes through advanced financial analysis and strategic recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Finance, Cloud, Engineering, and business leaders to understand consumption drivers and identify FinOps maturation opportunities
• Lead complex analysis of cloud spend, usage patterns, and unit economics to identify savings opportunities and enterprise optimization strategies
• Establish and govern FinOps processes including budgeting, forecasting, chargeback models, cost allocation, and savings tracking
• Evaluate cloud services, pricing models, and architectural patterns to recommend cost efficiency and transparency improvements
• Develop FinOps strategy, operating routines, and governance forums; provide education and coaching to technical and business stakeholders

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 8 years experience in Finance, Economics, IT, or related field; or Master's with 7 years; or PhD with 3 years
• Senior-level experience in FinOps, cloud financial management, or cloud economics with complex analysis and governance oversight
• Deep understanding of cloud services, cost drivers, pricing models, allocation methods, and financial optimization practices
• Advanced analytical skills to interpret large datasets, identify trends, quantify impacts, and create executive presentations
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, cost allocation, and financial planning in complex environments
• Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment, influence senior stakeholders, and manage significant financial accountability
