Safety Coordinator

We are looking for a Safety Coordinator who wants to do more than enforce rules. We want someone who can help shape culture, build trust with employees, strengthen engagement, and lead safety initiatives that make a real impact across the cooperative. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about operational safety, employee development, field engagement, and continuous improvement. What You Will Do Lead and strengthen the cooperative's safety culture across all departments Partner with employees and leaders to proactively identify hazards and improve processes Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs, policies, and procedures Conduct field observations, audits, inspections, and incident investigations Deliver engaging and practical safety training for operational and office employees Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable regulations Coordinate emergency preparedness efforts and support response activities Chair and support Safety Committee initiatives Analyze trends, identify opportunities for improvement, and help drive accountability Serve as a trusted resource and coach for employees and leadership teams What We Are Looking For We are seeking someone who: Leads with integrity, professionalism, and accountability Builds strong relationships and communicates effectively with employees at all levels Is comfortable working in both office and field environments Can balance compliance requirements with a people-focused approach Thinks proactively and works to prevent incidents before they happen Brings energy, initiative, and a passion for continuous improvement Understands that strong safety cultures are built through consistency, visibility, and trust Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Safety, or a related field preferred Minimum of three years of safety experience preferred Utility, construction, industrial, or electric cooperative experience strongly preferred Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and utility safety regulations Strong presentation, communication, investigation, and organizational skills Commitment to completing NRECA Safety Program requirements Why Join Cuivre River Electric Cooperative?
