Job Title: Part Time Clinical Research Coordinator (30hrs/week)

Job Description

This part-time Clinical Research Coordinator role supports a respiratory clinical trial at a research site in the Scottsdale, AZ area. You will identify and recruit eligible participants, educate them about the study, and help ensure they remain engaged and compliant throughout the trial. The position requires strong clinical research experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to communicate confidently with both participants and research staff. The role offers approximately 30 hours of work per week and involves close collaboration with clinical teams and referral providers.

Responsibilities

• Review electronic medical records (EMR) to assess potential participants against protocol-defined inclusion and exclusion criteria.
• Pre-screen potential participants to determine eligibility based on study protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Recruit and enroll participants into the clinical trial in accordance with study procedures and applicable regulations.
• Provide clear and thorough education to participants about the clinical trial, including study objectives, procedures, expectations, and follow-up requirements.
• Conduct follow-up communications with participants to support retention and ensure ongoing adherence to the study protocol.
• Schedule in-person visits and follow-up appointments, and send reminders and relevant information to participants in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of chart reviews, pre-screening activities, and participant interactions in the EMR and study records.
• Perform community outreach to raise awareness of the study and support participant recruitment.
• Build and maintain relationships with referral providers to support participant identification and enrollment.
• Provide chart review support at referral provider clinics to identify potential participants for the study.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience as a Clinical Research Coordinator.
• At least 2 years of experience in patient recruitment for clinical trials.
• At least 2 years of experience working with electronic medical records (EMR).
• Demonstrated experience in pre-screening patients against study eligibility criteria.
• Strong skills in chart review and documentation within clinical or research settings.
• Experience in clinical trial recruitment and participant enrollment.
• Training in HIPAA regulations and patient privacy requirements.
• Training in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with participants and research staff.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and data entry.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience supporting community outreach activities related to clinical research.
• Experience networking with referral providers and clinics to support study recruitment.
• Comfort working with EMR systems for chart review, pre-screening, and documentation.
• Ability to explain complex study procedures in a clear and understandable way to participants.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with research and clinical teams.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a patient-centered approach to participant engagement.

Work Environment

This is a part-time position of approximately 30 hours per week, aligned with normal business hours. You will work regularly with electronic medical records (EMR), conduct chart reviews, and coordinate in-person visits and follow-up appointments. The setting is a professional clinical and research environment where collaboration with research staff, clinical teams, and referral providers is a key part of daily work.

This is a Contract position based out of Scottsdale, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
