Pool Supervisor

The Department of Social Services (DSS) is comprised of the administrative units of the New York City Human Resources Administration (HRA) and the Department of Homeless Services (DHS). HRA is dedicated to fighting poverty and income inequality by providing New Yorkers in need with essential benefits such as Food Assistance and Emergency Rental Assistance. DHS is committed to preventing and addressing homelessness in New York City by employing a variety of innovative strategies to help families and individuals successfully exit shelter and return to self-sufficiency as quickly as possible. Human Resources Solutions (HRS) supports the human resources needs of the Department of Social Services, the Human Resources Administration, and the Department of Homeless Services through strategic partnership and collaboration, with the goal of creating an inclusive, motivated, and client centered workforce. Human Resources Solutions (HRS)/Civil Service Initiative Unit is recruiting (two) 2 Staff Analyst II's to function as Pool Supervisors who will:

• Administer Civil Service hiring pools, which entails requesting job descriptions and sending out interview notices to candidates.
• Oversee hiring pool activity which entails coordinating interviews, responding to inquiries, informing candidates of interviewing decisions, recordkeeping of hiring pool activity/decisions, preparing summary reports of hiring pool, and completing the Disposition of Certification.
• Coordinate and administering the Agency's New Hire Orientation Program and preparing, editing, and updating orientation manuals and other pertinent information for new hires.
• Prepare statistical reports resulting from hiring pools; maintaining tracking sheets regarding the last civil service list number reached for a title, medical, psychological and language testing.
• Enter, updating, and retrieving information from computerized systems (i.e., NYCAPS, HRTS, PMS, PRISE) and other information storage systems in order to facilitate search, clearance, verification, and other operations as well as assisting in maintaining data quality control.
• Assist in the research regarding reinstatement requests and liaising with other city agencies regarding appoints for other city agencies as well as other city agencies appointing for HRA.
• Maintain, track, and update the Active Civil Service Listing, which indicates all civil service exams that are active, by reviewing the DCAS' system known as PRISE.

Hours/Schedule: 9 to 5 STAFF ANALYST - 12626

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
