We’re searching for an experienced construction bookkeeper to oversee all financial aspects of our busy construction company. We’re looking for someone who is very organized, has great time management skills, and is an accounting software wizard. The successful applicant will have 5 years of experience as a full-charge bookkeeper in the construction industry, a problem-solving attitude, and great communication skills. Compensation:$21 - $25 hourly
Responsibilities:- Implement extensive data entry to ensure all financial data is input into accounting software
- Control the general ledger, and journal entries for accuracy, and prepare balance sheets and financial reports for review
- Ensure accurate financial records, contracts, tax reports, annual budgets, and financial statements are up to date
- Assure costs, timeline, and budget of construction projects are accurately forecasted, by providing detailed financial reporting to the general contractor or project manager
- Oversee all financial transactions, such as credit card and bank reconciliations, and manage the accounts payables and accounts receivables process
What you’ll do:
- Enter financial transactions, manage A/P and A/R, payroll, and reconciliations
- Prepare financial reports, assist with forecasting, and budgets
- Reconcile real estate commissions and support tax reporting
What success looks like at 6 months:
- Accurate, timely month-end close, streamlined commission processes
- A high school diploma is required - an associate’s degree in accounting, or business, or related field is preferred
- 5 years of experience in accounting or full-charge bookkeeping experience in the construction industry
- Exceptional organization, analytical, problem solving, and communications skills are important
- Familiarity with construction accounting concepts, tax strategies, and best practices
- Well-versed with Microsoft Office, Excel, and accounting software, such as QuickBooks
What you bring (must-haves):
- 3–5+ years bookkeeping/accounting experience
- Proficient with QuickBooks and Excel; strong tech skills
- High professionalism and attention to detail
