Senior Staff Attorney Insurance Defense

Responsibilities Work closely with claim centers and insureds to deliver best possible results in pending litigation. Provide top‑quality representation for Auto and General Liability (product & premises) cases from inception through trial resolution. Analyze complex legal issues and conduct extensive, well‑reasoned legal research. Independently develop and aggressively present defense strategies for auto and general liability cases. Prepare pleadings, written discovery, motions, and briefs in support of defense strategies. Provide effective and timely information, legal advice, and other services. Communicate with courts, witnesses, opposing counsel, and co‑counsel with professionalism. Participate in claims file reviews. Conduct trials, depositions, arbitrations, and mediations. Attend continuing legal education seminars to maintain professional expertise. Qualifications Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and a license to practice in Florida. Minimum 7 years of experience handling bodily injury claims with proven trial expertise. First‑chair jury trial experience preferred. Legal research and motion practice expertise. Positive‑mindset collaborative team‑player attitude. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); Lexis Nexis experience a plus. Self‑directed with strong organizational and prioritization skills. Remote & Travel Position fully remote from a Florida residence. Requires 10‑15% travel within Florida for court and file‑related appearances. Compensation The annualized base pay range: $128,000 – $192,000. Base pay may vary based on performance, proficiency, and demonstrated competencies. Total compensation includes potential short‑term or annual bonuses, long‑term incentives, and on‑the‑spot recognition.
