Job Title: RN Clinical Perioperative Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Registered Nurse - Inpatient Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10.45am - 8.45pm (4 days) On call as needed Experience: Less than 1 year License: RN - Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN - Multi-state Compact Certifications: BLS - Basic Life Support Must-Have: - Ability to read, write, and speak English. - Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills along with customer service skills. - Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies in a decisive, composed, and respectful manner. - Excellent time management skills. - Practices nursing using evidence and analytical skills. - Possess strong critical thinking skills. Description: The RN Clinical Perioperative Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team. They ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized high-quality, safe patient care. The nurse practices in a clinical environment supported through a shared governance model. The framework for practice is guided by a professional practice model, evidence-based practice, and research. RN competencies are derived from these models and supported by core competencies. It is expected that all RN Clinical Nurses are licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the relevant professional regulations. As a member of the patient services team, the individual upholds the voice of the patient and supports service excellence goals. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Performs the Nursing Process including assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical care. Utilizes evidence-based practice and analytical thinking, ensuring that care is individualized. Coordinates care through effective partnerships, recognizing that caring is central to achieve optimal patient care outcomes. Provides relationship-based patient-centered care that is consistent with population-specific characteristics. Partners with patients and significant others using appropriate methods for setting and purpose. Practices using current clinical practice standards. Demonstrates teamwork and collaboration by coordinating the delivery of safe quality patient care. Completes timely documentation and promotes a respectful, inclusive clinical environment. Participates and supports performance improvement, inclusive of all stakeholders. Initiates and leads activities that promote safe, quality patient care and actively supports shared governance. Completes all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments and mandatory education. Serves as a preceptor and mentor for other professional nurses and healthcare staff. Promotes evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement. Participates in data collection and poses relevant clinical questions to advanced evidence-based practice. Proactively plans for patient care across the care continuum while giving direct patient care. Participates in the development of protocols and procedures in collaboration with care managers. Supports the efficient and effective use of human and material resources. Complies with all policies, standards of work, and codes of conduct. Performs other duties as assigned.
