Position Overview As a Senior Paralegal, you will provide advanced litigation support to federal attorneys engaged in complex legal matters. You will assist with legal research, discovery, case management, trial preparation, document review, court filing support, evidence management, legal writing, and organization of litigation materials. This position is ideal for experienced paralegals who thrive in deadline‑driven environments, possess exceptional organizational skills, and enjoy contributing to high‑impact litigation efforts. Responsibilities Support Assistant United States Attorneys throughout all phases of litigation. Organize, analyze, summarize, and maintain complex case files and litigation records. Prepare case chronologies, witness files, exhibit lists, document indexes, and trial notebooks. Track litigation deadlines, discovery milestones, court schedules, hearings, and filing dates. Assist with hearings, depositions, mediations, interviews, and trial preparation activities. Conduct legal and factual research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER, CM/ECF, public records sources, and other approved legal resources. Draft legal memoranda, correspondence, factual summaries, case reports, and litigation support documents. Assist with preparation and review of motions, briefs, pleadings, subpoenas, declarations, proposed orders, and court filings. Review legal documents for accuracy, consistency, formatting, and completeness. Support document review, discovery organization, production tracking, and evidence management. Maintain discovery indexes, document logs, production trackers, privilege logs, and litigation databases. Assist with electronic discovery projects and large‑volume document review. Organize paper and electronic records for attorney review and case development. Prepare trial notebooks, witness binders, exhibit binders, demonstrative materials, and courtroom reference documents. Coordinate witness files, subpoenas, exhibit lists, and hearing/trial logistics. Maintain control and organization of exhibits, evidence, and trial materials. Provide litigation support during hearings, proceedings, and trials as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred; equivalent legal support experience may be considered based on contract requirements. Three (3)+ years of paralegal, litigation support, legal assistant, case management, discovery, or closely related legal support experience. Strong legal research, writing, proofreading, and analytical skills. Experience supporting litigation, investigations, discovery, trial preparation, court filings, or complex legal matters. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, Adobe Acrobat, and document management tools. Excellent organization, attention to detail, communication, and time management skills. Ability to work independently while supporting multiple attorneys, cases, and deadlines. Ability to obtain and maintain DOJ suitability requirements and meet applicable residency requirements. Preferred Qualifications Prior Department of Justice, United States Attorney’s Office, federal court, or federal agency legal support experience. Experience with Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER, CM/ECF, Relativity, Concordance, CaseMap, TrialDirector, or other litigation support tools. Trial preparation and courtroom support experience. Large‑volume document review, discovery production, privilege review, or eDiscovery experience. Knowledge of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure, Federal Rules of Evidence, and federal court filing practices.
