Our goal is to meet the highest employer standards by ensuring the health and safety of our employees, protecting the environment and positively impacting our communities where we do business.We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Financial Analyst within our Midstream & Marketing group based in Houston, TX.Key Responsibilities:Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income statement and balance sheet analysis, with an emphasis on Midstream & Marketing activitiesStrong ability to interpret large datasets and identify trends in market dataConduct variance analysis compared to outlook, budget, and previous periods, and communicate key drivers to management using dashboards and visual summariesSupport monthly close activities by handling accruals, estimates, and tie-outs, ensuring results accuratelyreflect operational activity in accordance with accrual accounting principlesMaintain and review balance sheet account reconciliations, investigate reconciling items, and work withAccounting to resolve issues promptlyDevelop, maintain, and enhance management reporting tools, including automated reports and analytics to improve efficiency and provide deeper insightsWorking closely with other departments in recording and analyzing financial dataAssisting with internal and external audit requests, as well as other special projectsOther duties as requiredRequired Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related degree3 to 5 years Corporate Accounting Experience (would consider 2-3 years of Public Accounting)Strong analytical and communication skillsAbility to successfully manage multiple tasks and meet short deadlinesPrior experience in Midstream, Marketing, Energy, or Commodity-based businessesSelf-motivated and strong work ethicAbility to analyze data and reach own conclusionsExposure to forecasting, budget, outlook, or planning processesExperience with inventory valuation or commodity margin analysisIndependent thinker with the ability to problem solveTakes accountability and strives to increase resultsAbility to work Overtime required for monthly closing activitiesDesired Qualifications:Midstream& Marketing Oil and Gas experience/background a plusExperience with SQL, Python, or data visualization tools (Tableau/Power BI) a plusSAP & Microsoft Excel experience a plusRelocation will not be provided.
