Machinist

Machinist Haas & Mazak CNC We're looking for a skilled Machinist to set up and operate Haas and Mazak CNC mills and lathes. You'll run multiple machines, perform light programming, and ensure every part meets exact specifications. This is a contract-to-hire role with strong long-term growth potential as our machine room expands. What You'll Do Set up and operate Haas and Mazak CNC mills and lathes Run multiple CNC machines at the same time while maintaining quality Read and interpret blueprints and schematics Perform light programming and edits using Fanuc and Mazatrol controls Select and install tooling for drilling, threading, boring, and keyway operations Make offsets and adjustments during machining Use micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools Perform basic machine maintenance and keep a clean, organized work area Lift and move materials/parts up to 50 lbs Support machine room growth and process improvements What You Bring Experience setting up and running Haas CNC machines Experience setting up and running Mazak CNC machines Ability to operate both CNC mills and CNC lathes Strong blueprint reading skills CNC setup experience (tooling, offsets, adjustments) Familiarity with Fanuc and Mazatrol controls Ability to run multiple machines at once Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, and precision measurement tools Experience with drilling, threading, boring, and keyway operations Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Nice to Have Light CNC programming experience Comfort making basic CNC program edits Strong attention to detail and quality Ability to work independently and stay productive Interest in helping build out and improve the machine room Job Type & Location This is a permanent position based out of Rochester, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $31.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
