Adelphi is seeking a licensed physician to serve as Medical Director for a full-time, short-term locum assignment in Cameron County, Texas. The ideal candidate will provide medical leadership and clinical oversight for individuals with complex medical, psychiatric, and behavioral health needs. Job Quick Facts • Reference #: BD-673-65 • Profession: Physician • Specialty: Medical Director • Location: Cameron County, Texas • Service Setting: Confidential residential long-term care facility • Position Type: Full-Time | Locum Contract • Contract Term: 3 months, with option to renew • Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM • Call Schedule: Shared on-call duty with other qualified medical staff • Start Date: Immediate Requirements • Medical Doctor (MD) licensed by the State of Texas • Active DEA registration • Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)• Ability to enroll as a Medicaid and Medicare Part B provider • Prior medical director, supervisory, or clinical leadership experience preferred • Experience managing complex medical, psychiatric, and/or behavioral health needs preferred • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred • Ability to meet all agency and facility requirements prior to start Responsibilities • Direct medical services across primary care, psychiatric, dental, pharmaceutical, and lab functions. • Oversee diagnosis and treatment for individuals with complex medical and behavioral needs. • Maintain responsibility for overall medical care and clinical service quality. • Serve as primary care physician for an assigned caseload. • Supervise physicians, APRNs, PAs, pharmacists, dentists, psychiatrists, and contracted staff. • Support clinical staff with complex cases and treatment planning. • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, committees, conferences, and work groups. • Develop and share the on-call duty schedule. • Ensure compliance with applicable policies, standards, and regulatory requirements. • Coordinate care for employees injured while on duty. • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders as needed. • Support emergency response and continuity operations as assigned. • Perform other duties as assigned.
