Manager of Network & Systems Infrastructure

Job Summary The Manager of Network & Systems Infrastructure is responsible for leading the Firm's infrastructure engineering team and ensuring the stability, security, performance, and availability of all enterprise infrastructure services. This includes networking, Windows server infrastructure, virtualization, cloud-connected services, endpoint management, application deployment, storage, disaster recovery, and core enterprise systems. This is a hands-on working manager position responsible for leading technical staff while personally executing operational work and strategic technology projects. The role partners closely with the Director of Information Technology to modernize infrastructure, improve operational efficiency, and support the Firm's technology roadmap. Essential Responsibilities Lead the Network & Systems Infrastructure team, providing technical leadership, mentoring, workload management, and performance coaching. OwntheFirm'sWindowsworkstationenvironment,includingWindows11lifecyclemanagement,endpointstandards,imaging,anddeployment. Ownenterpriseapplicationpackaging,testing,deployment,upgrades,andlifecyclemanagementforFirmlaptopsanddesktops. ManageendpointmanagementplatformsincludingMicrosoftIntune,Autopilot,MicrosoftEndpointConfigurationManager(orequivalent). Serveasahands-onworkingmanagerbypersonallycompletingoperationalinfrastructuretasks,troubleshooting,maintenanceactivities,andprojectwork. LeadinfrastructuremodernizationinitiativesacrossWindowsServer,ActiveDirectory,virtualization,storage,Microsoft365integrations,andAzure-connectedservices. PartnerwiththeCloudEngineer,InformationSecurityManager,andServiceDesktoensureinfrastructurereliability,security,andapplicationcompatibility. ServeasTeamLeadfornetworkadministratorsandrelatedtechnicalstaff. OverseeandexecuteITprojectsasassignedbytheDirectorofIT. Providementorship,technicaldirection,andperformancefeedbacktoITteammembers. Documentnetworkpolicies,standardoperatingprocedures,anduserguides. CollaboratewithITleadershiptodefinenetworkstrategiesandensurealignmentwithFirmobjectives. Providetechnicalguidanceandsupporttokeypersonnelregardingnetworkandinfrastructureissues. Install,configure,patch,andmaintaincomplexWindowsserverinfrastructure,includingHyper-Vclusters,multi-siteActiveDirectory,anddisasterrecoveryenvironments. Managegeographicallydistributedandreplicatedstorageareanetworks(SANs). Troubleshootandresolveserverperformanceandconfigurationissues. Ensuresystemsarecompliantwithsecuritypoliciesandregularlyupdatedtoaddressvulnerabilities. ManageandmaintainWindowsserver-hostedapplicationsincludingExchange,SQL,SharePoint,WorkSite,andothermission-criticalsoftware. Overseeapplicationpatching,configuration,andperformanceoptimization. Implementandmonitorbackupstrategiesinalignmentwithrecoverytime(RTO)andrecoverypoint(RPO)objectives. Research,analyze,andresolvecomplexnetworkapplicationissuesandoutages. Design,configure,andmaintainenterprise-levelfirewalls,switches,androuterstoensuresecureaccesstoFirmsystemsandapplications. DevelopandmaintainVLANandIPaddressingschemesacrossmultipleoffices. Overseetheconfigurationandmanagementofsecureandguestwirelessnetworks. Coordinatewithinternalteams,vendors,andserviceproviderstoensureseamlessnetworkoperations. Handlenetwork-relatedsupportticketescalationsandparticipateinon-callrotation. DirectlysuperviseandprovideleadershiptotheSeniorNetworkEngineerandNetworkAdministrator. Conductregularone-on-onemeetings,performanceevaluations,coaching,andcareerdevelopmentplanning. Manageteamworkload,priorities,operationalresponsibilities,andprojectassignments. ParticipateinweeklyITleadershipmeetingswiththeServiceDeskManager,SecurityComplianceAnalyst,andCloudSolutionEngineer. CollaboratewithITleadershippeerstocoordinateinfrastructure,cloud,security,andsupportinitiatives. AssisttheDirectorofInformationTechnologywithstrategicplanning,budgeting,staffing,andtechnologyroadmaps. WorkwithCloudEngineertohelpinfrastructuremodernizationeffortsincludingcloudadoption,cybersecurityimprovements,automation,andoperationalefficiencies. Serveastheprimaryescalationpointforcomplexinfrastructureandnetwork-relatedissues. Evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations to improve reliability, security, and operational effectiveness. Required Skills and Abilities Advanced understanding of network design, server management, and enterprise infrastructure. Expertise with Microsoft Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Hyper-V, and SAN technologies. Strong knowledge of networking concepts including VLANs, routing, switching, and firewalls. Ability to analyze complex technical problems and implement effective solutions. Excellent leadership, communication, and documentation skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines. Proven experience developing and enforcing IT operational standards and best practices. Strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality and data integrity. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications. Proficiency with Microsoft Windows Server, Hyper-V, Active Directory, Exchange, and SQL Server. Familiarity with enterprise networking tools, firewalls, and monitoring platforms. Advanced knowledge of Windows 11 enterprise administration and endpoint lifecycle management. Experience with enterprise application packaging and deployment. Experience with Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, SCCM/MECM, or comparable endpoint management platforms. Demonstrated ability to balance technical execution with people leadership. Experience managing hybrid Microsoft environments including Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Azure, virtualization, and Active Directory. Educational Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred. Relevant technical certifications strongly preferred (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+/Security+). Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in network and systems administration. Prior leadership or supervisory experience required. Work Environment /Physical and Mental Demands Primarily a desk job requiring regular computer and telephone work. Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds as needed for equipment setup or maintenance. Position may require off-hours work or extended effort to meet operational needs. Reliable internet access is required for remote work. Required to work onsite in the Radnor office a minimum of three (3) days per month, with additional in-office attendance as required to meet business needs.
