Job Summary: Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU OH) RN Rockford, Illinois (Nights). The role requires an experienced registered nurse to provide care across Intensive Care Unit, Step-Down ICU, Medical Surgical, Cardiac Telemetry, and Stroke Neuro units, with ICU experience and extensive cardiac experience. The position includes administering medications and treatments, developing and executing individualized plans of care, and collaborating with interdisciplinary team members. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license; Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification; graduate of an accredited nursing program (education verification required).
• Preferred Qualifications: Extensive cardiac experience; ICU experience (with willingness to float down to Medical Surgical if needed).
• Responsibilities:
  • Utilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients.
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and State laws/practice act.
  • Documents according to standards of care.
  • Develops, initiates, and executes a patient plan of care based on individualized patient needs and as prescribed by physician direction and/or hospital policy, including patient and family instruction.
  • Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance.
  • Utilizes clinical expertise to guide other units/departments in support of the patients longitudinal plan of care.
  • Uses critical thinking related to patient safety and patient experience, and appropriately escalates concerns to the appropriate chain of command.
• Additional Information: Candidates must be willing to float down to Medical Surgical if needed. Position includes care across Medical Surgical, Cardiac Telemetry, Stroke Neuro, Step-Down ICU, and ICU units.
