Reporting to the Executive Director, Stewardship and Donor Relations, the Director creates, implements, manages, and assesses a comprehensive set of cultivation and stewardship activities that supports Institutional Advancement's fundraising and engagement goals. The Director provides project management and expertise to create and advance programs and projects that strengthen donor confidence, enhance the donor experience, and increase donor satisfaction and retention. Within Temple's hybrid centralized/decentralized advancement organization, the Director is responsible for oversight, collaborative planning, and coordination of key Centralized stewardship services. * Bachelor's degree
* At least six (6) years of directly related experience working in donor relations/ stewardship, advancement services, or frontline development.
* An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Preferred Education and Experience
* Experience in donor relations/stewardship, advancement services, or frontline development in a higher education setting.
* Understanding of donor relations and stewardship principles.
* Knowledge of corresponding fundraising and advancement services functions. Required Skills and Abilities
* Fluency with financial documents, database creation and management, and financial record- keeping required. Demonstrated proficiency in Banner or equivalent development database.
* Advanced competencies in data management tools. Must be willing to undergo training in internal systems.
* Must possess solid interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a complex environment with students, staff, faculty, families, and alumni.
* Ability to use problem solving skills and judgment in situations requiring independent initiative and tact.
* Ability to manage, organize, plan, and follow through on simultaneous projects independently and/or under general guidance/supervision.
* Must be comfortable with fast-paced environment with frequent high-level assignments and daily deliverables for colleagues and superiors.
* Attention to detail and excellent written, data collection, and oral communication skills required.
* Ability to work with sensitive or confidential information in a discreet and professional manner.
* Must be willing to work occasional nights and weekends for events. This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
