Stewardship and Engagement Director: The Communitys Foundation
$30 - $40 per hourBryn Mawr College
For over 40 years, The Community’s Foundation (TCF) has strengthened the quality of life in the Delaware County region. Founded as the Taylor Community Foundation, TCF connects donors, volunteers, and nonprofits to the causes they care about most, creating lasting impact through grants, programs, and scholarships. Managing more than 50 charitable funds — including Donor Advised Funds, Field of Interest Funds, nonprofit Agency Funds, and fiscal sponsorships for over two dozen community groups — TCF awards over $1 million each year to support student scholarships, local nonprofits, and community programs. Through initiatives like the Health Professions Scholarship Program (now in its 25 th year) and a broad range of grants, TCF empowers individuals and organizations to give back in meaningful ways while building a stronger, more vibrant, and equitable Delaware County. What You Will Get: You’ll join a mission-driven, collaborative team dedicated to making a lasting impact in Delaware County. At TCF, you’ll work in a supportive environment where creativity, initiative, and community engagement are valued. This role offers the opportunity to lead high-impact donor stewardship and engagement initiatives, shape meaningful programs, and see the direct results of your work in the community. TCF provides flexible hybrid work arrangements, professional development opportunities, and a culture that emphasizes inclusion, respect, and belonging. In addition, you’ll be part of a small but dynamic organization where your contributions make a visible difference every day. The Opportunity: The Stewardship and Engagement Director leads the strategic development and execution of a comprehensive donor communications and stewardship program. This role is critical to deepening donor relationships, educating audiences about the organization’s impact, and building the foundation for long-term giving. This individual will develop and implement segmented engagement strategies, oversee the donor database and analytics efforts, and support the President’s work with major donors through customized briefing materials and reporting. The Director will also design and execute the organization’s annual community celebration fundraising event and manage the Database Coordinator to ensure seamless integration between data, strategy, and storytelling. While TCF is currently hiring for a part‑time position, there is potential for it to grow into a full‑time role based on the organization’s fundraising success. The scope of work outlined reflects the full vision for the position; however, work plans and deliverables will be appropriately scaled to align with the actual weekly hours committed. Key Responsibilities Donor Stewardship & Strategic Communications Develop and execute a comprehensive donor communications strategy and annual calendar that includes newsletters, impact reports, personalized stewardship pieces, and digital content. Create and refine consistent messaging that educates and inspires donors and prospects by clearly articulating the organization’s mission, programs, and impact. Define key donor segments and tailor messaging and engagement strategies for each group, including major donors, mid‑level donors, scholar alumni, and corporate / foundation supporters. Support the President’s work with donors by preparing customized reports, profiles, and stewardship materials for meetings, proposals, and follow‑up. Build a communications infrastructure to support future planned giving outreach and education. Lead the creation of donor‑centric materials including thank‑you letters, donor spotlights, giving impact stories, and annual report content. Design and maintain systems for tracking stewardship touchpoints, ensuring timely follow‑up and consistent engagement. Generate regular and ad hoc reports from the donor database to monitor engagement, giving trends, and campaign performance. Data Analysis & Strategic Insights Oversee the integrity, accuracy, and usability of the donor database in partnership with the Database Coordinator. Conduct periodic audits of engagement efforts and donor communications to assess impact and identify opportunities for improvement. Use regional needs assessment research and data to inform donor engagement strategies and storytelling priorities. Establish KPIs and dashboards to monitor and analyze donor trends, stewardship effectiveness, and communications outcomes. Event Management Lead the planning, promotion, and execution of the annual community celebration event, ensuring alignment with donor engagement goals and overseeing the work of the Administrative Coordinator in support of this event. Collaborate with staff, vendors, and volunteers to create meaningful donor experiences at events and site visits. Team Leadership & Cross‑Functional Collaboration Supervise the Database Coordinator to ensure donor data accuracy, reporting efficiency, and CRM maintenance. Partner with colleagues and volunteers to ensure accurate, compelling content and data is shared with donors. Serve as liaison to finance for reconciliation of gifts and revenue reporting related to donor engagement. What You Bring: Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Minimum 7–10 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor communications, stewardship strategy, or a related field. Proven experience developing and implementing segmented donor communications strategies across multiple platforms. Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with a talent for translating data and program information into compelling donor stories. Demonstrated ability to analyze donor trends, campaign performance, and fundraising metrics to inform strategy. Experience planning and executing donor events or cultivation experiences. Excellent organizational, analytical, and time management skills. Proactive, solution‑oriented mindset with the ability to exercise mature judgment. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and initiate and complete tasks with minimal supervision, exercising discretion and independent judgment. Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and platforms. Advanced user experience within Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and relational databases or donor CRM systems (such as DonorPerfect, Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge, or similar). A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders in meaningful ways. Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic Ability to handle confidential information and donor data with discretion and ethical standards. Willingness to occasionally work flexible hours to support evening or weekend events. Ability to communicate fluently in English. A valid driver’s license is required for occasional travel to offsite events and donor visits. Preferred Experience Advanced degree or certification in nonprofit management, communications, or fundraising. Familiarity with planned giving, alumni engagement, and philanthropic trends. Experience supporting executive‑level fundraising efforts and preparing customized materials for high‑net‑worth donor cultivation. Understanding of nonprofit legal, finance, and compliance considerations related to donor stewardship and data management. Work Environment & Physical Requirements This position is primarily office‑based and requires the ability to work at a desk and computer for extended periods. Employees may occasionally need to access files, lift light boxes, or move materials as part of their work and must be able to ride an elevator or climb stairs to get to the office. Offices are shared, so employees should be able to adapt to variations in noise, temperature, and workspace. The role may require local travel and occasional work outside normal business hours for events and meetings. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and will close when a robust pool of applicants is secured. The market range for this position is $30-40 per hour, or approximately $47,000‑$65,500 per year, which represents TCF’s good faith estimate at the time of posting. The final salary will be determined based on factors such as experience, education, internal salary equity, and relevant market data. A valid PA Criminal background check will be required prior to the start of employment. TCF offers a supportive work environment and a benefits package designed to help you thrive. Benefits include three weeks paid time off, 12 holidays, six sick days, 3% 401(k) retirement match contribution, short term disability, and opportunities for professional development. We are committed to creating a culture of respect, inclusion, and belonging. We actively seek and welcome candidates with diverse perspectives and experiences, exceptional qualifications, and a demonstrable commitment to a more equitable community. TCF is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applications from people of all backgrounds, experiences, and identities. #J-18808-Ljbffr Bryn Mawr College
