High School Assistant Principal of STEM (26-27 School Year)

Assistant Principal – STEM – Responsibilities Assist the Principal with oversight of curriculum development and improvement, student assessment (internal and external), and teacher development Supervise the daily instructional work of teachers on coaching load Conduct teacher observations and provide immediate feedback on performance based on pre-determined criteria of success Communicate regularly with the Principal concerning student achievement, teacher development and evaluation and curriculum design Collaborate with Instructional Coach, other Assistant Principals, Executive Principal and Senior Director of Academics to use systems for data analysis and data action following all internal and external assessments Model instructional strategies to improve student engagement, comprehension, and develop an effective instructional environment Ensure alignment between teachers’ classroom actions and the school’s mission and educational philosophy Work with teachers to problem-solve specific instructional challenges Provide coaching and support to staff based on survey data, observation data, and student outcomes Facilitate and provide staff development touchpoints for teachers and fellow leaders Observe and document staff performance, providing actionable feedback Availability and willingness to participate in after-school programs Availability and willingness to engage in a limited number of optional, evening/weekend student recruitment and community outreach events Desired Qualifications and Characteristics A team-oriented approach with the ability to effectively set and communicate goals The ability to give constructive feedback to facilitate student growth and academic achievement Openness to receiving feedback for personal and professional growth Experience in managing, leading, and motivating adults A background as an experienced classroom teacher with demonstrated, quantifiable, and objective student performance gains surpassing state or local averages Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and oral communication abilities High levels of organization and initiative in problem-solving Knowledge, commitment, and grit, with a readiness to take on challenges and a persistent pursuit of academic excellence Dedication to the educational success of historically underserved students Evidence of the ability to reflect and articulate lessons learned from past experiences A strong belief in and alignment with Intrepid College Prep’s mission and educational philosophy EEO Statement Intrepid College Prep is an equal opportunity employer. Compensation We offer a generous compensation package, including full health benefits. Compensation is highly competitive; teachers are eligible to participate in the MNPS Retirement System. Base salaries are determined by the ICP salary scale. Placement on the salary scale is determined by years of relevant, teaching experience. We do not negotiate salaries because of research that demonstrates the resulting impact of inequitable pay, primarily for women and people of color. Placement on the salary scale is solely determined by relevant experience. Starting salary (Year 0) for a certified teacher with zero years of experience starts at $53,000.
