We are seeking an experienced and collaborative Healthcare Deputy Program Director - Inpatient Tower Oversight who excels in synchronizing teams and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. This position is based at our client's office in Austin TX, reporting directly to our Project Director and the client’s Planning Committee, and supervising other project and construction managers. You will be responsible for supporting the Program Director with managing and delivering a new mega hospital program, as well as managing the project development from design through completion in alignment with program objectives. You will oversee design and construction, addressing and resolving complex project-related issues while aligning multiple stakeholder interests. As the Owner's Representative and strategic expert, you will ensure the progress and technical performance of the project, in addition to its schedule, cost, scope, and team safety. Your role is crucial for maintaining connectivity within our company, and we will provide the necessary support to ensure your success. Core Responsibilities Program Governance Support the Program Director in managing overall scope, multi-year capital budgets, cash flow projections, and master schedules. Lead the development of a PMP and/or PEP Stakeholder Integration Lead coordination between hospital executives, clinical user groups, architects, engineers, contractors, and local authorities having jurisdiction. Inpatient Tower Oversight Manage the A/E team during the design and construction of complex clinical spaces, ICUs, and patient rooms. Manage the design team fast-track procurement and early trade packages for excavation, foundations, and long-lead MEP equipment. Coordinate rigorous commissioning, life-safety inspections, and partial occupancy milestones for active medical environments. Ensure all design and construction workflows conform to strict health standards, including Facility Guidelines Institute (FGI) guidelines, life safety codes, and infection prevention protocols. Design Team Oversight Lead multidisciplinary architectural and engineering consultants from programming through construction documents, ensuring clinical functionality and compliance. Manage the CMAR procurement process, contractor selection, pre-construction services, value engineering, and constructability reviews. Direct multidisciplinary coordination among architecture, structure, MEP/FP, medical equipment (MEQ), technology, security, vertical transportation, and specialty healthcare systems. Ensure design decision support clinical functionality, operational requirements, constructability, maintainability, and lifecycle objectives. Manage design deliverables, review cycles, comments, RFIs, submittals, and design changes. Autonomous Robotics & Material Delivery Lead the planning and implementation of an AMR logistics system for delivery of supplies, medications, linens, meals, and other approved material throughout the in-patient towers. Coordinate AMR infrastructure with architectural, structural, MEP, elevator controls, security, technology and clinical design requirements. Ensure that the design team accounts for robot staging areas, charging stations, automated doors, elevator interfaces, dedicated logistics routes, docking stations, and patient-room delivery points Risk & Change Management Monitor program-wide risk logs, identify potential schedule or budget bottlenecks, and implement proactive mitigation plans. Schedule & Budget Control Monitor critical path schedules, mitigate delays, and manage cost controls across all multi-million-dollar phases. Oversee subconsultants and contractors, tracking requests for information (RFIs), submittals, change orders, and schedule baseline health via Primavera P6 software. Here’s what you’ll need Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. 15+ years of related healthcare design and construction project management experience. Strong working knowledge of pre-design and pre-construction, building systems/components and technology, Contract management, project delivery methods, team building and client relationship building. Proven Experience managing $1 Billion+ hospital projects. Reside in the Austin area or willing to relocate to be onsite daily. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
