Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on HR Manager to lead Human Resources for two affiliated companies located at our Chatsworth manufacturing facility. This is a stand-alone HR role supporting approximately 120 employees and offers the opportunity to have a meaningful impact across the organization. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

The right person will be a trusted partner to employees and managers, comfortable working independently, and equally comfortable handling day-to-day HR needs and larger organizational initiatives. You will have ownership of the HR function while partnering with company leadership and outside resources when additional expertise is needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day HR operations, including employee records, HRIS administration, policies, and employee communications.
• Process biweekly payroll and manage timekeeping and attendance.
• Administer employee benefits, leave programs, and related employee questions.
• Lead recruiting, hiring, and onboarding from start to finish.
• Partner with managers on employee relations, performance management, attendance, investigations, and corrective action.
• Support compliance with California employment laws and company policies.
• Coordinate workers' compensation claims and support workplace safety and compliance programs.
• Manage PPE, required training, safety meetings, and Workplace Violence Prevention activities.
• Partner with management on employee engagement, retention, and organizational initiatives.
• Serve as a knowledgeable and approachable resource for employees and managers.
• Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and make the employee experience better.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a generalist or HR Manager role.
• Strong knowledge of California employment practices and HR compliance.
• Experience with payroll, benefits, recruiting, employee relations, and leave administration.
• Strong communication, coaching, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and handle confidential information.
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now or a similar HRIS is preferred.
• Manufacturing or industrial HR experience is preferred.
• PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification is a plus.
• Experience with OSHA/Cal-OSHA, workers' compensation, safety programs, AS9100, or ITAR is a plus.
• Bilingual: Enlish / Spanish preferred.

Physical Requirements

This position is based in a manufacturing environment and requires regular interaction with employees and managers throughout the facility. The HR Manager must be comfortable working both in an office environment and on the manufacturing floor.

The position requires the ability to:

• Regularly walk throughout the manufacturing facility.
• Stand and walk for periods of time while conducting employee interactions, training, safety activities, and facility observations.
• Navigate a manufacturing environment and other areas of the facility as required.
• Communicate effectively in an environment that may include elevated noise levels and required personal protective equipment.
• Occasionally work outside normal business hours to address employee, safety, or operational matters.
