Job Description

An Insight Global client in the Houston area is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join their team onsite five days a week in the Galleria area. The Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, operation, and security of the organization's hybrid infrastructure environment, including on-premises data centers, cloud platforms, networking, virtualization, storage, and identity services. This role serves as a senior technical resource responsible for ensuring high availability, scalability, performance, and cybersecurity across all infrastructure systems. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in Microsoft technologies, virtualization, networking, cloud services, cybersecurity best practices, and infrastructure automation. The Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer will collaborate closely with cybersecurity, application, and business teams to deliver secure and resilient technology solutions that support business operations. The salary for this person will range from $125,000 - $135,000 based on years of experience.

Skills and Requirements

8+ years of experience as an Infrastructure Engineer

5+ years of experience supporting enterprise Microsoft environments, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and related identity, collaboration, security, and compliance services.

Strong experience administering Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Microsoft Entra ID, licensing, security, compliance, retention, and governance using Microsoft 365 admin centers and PowerShell.

Experience supporting infrastructure compliance requirements, audit readiness, evidence collection, and control remediation activities in regulated or security-sensitive environments.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and end-users.

Advanced understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, VPNs, routing, and firewalls.

Proficiency with cloud security concepts, governance and technologies.

Hands-on experience with Azure DevSecOps and ability to integrate security practices into development workflows.

Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and infrastructure hardening.

Experience creating automation using PowerShell or Python. Experience with Intune
