About the Position

Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Hours (07:00 - 19:00) Experience: Minimum 2 Years Experience Required License: Valid License Required Certifications: BLS Required Must-Have: Experience in trauma, neuro, vascular, and orthopedic procedures Description: Applicants need to have trauma, neuro, vascular, and orthopedic experience due to trauma status. May need to cover one night shift within the contract as needed. Ratios: 10 RNs to 6 Surgical Technicians during the day. First-timers accepted. Weekend work required. On-call duty required; call will be distributed equally among all nursing staff every six weeks. This could be up to 6-8 shifts in a six-week period, including nights, evenings, and weekends. Travelers may be expected to float between nearby facilities. Refusal to float may result in termination of the assignment. Must be willing to work 2 out of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year. References required from positions held in the last three years. Special equipment may be required. Experience in abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, arthroscopy, colorectal surgeries, and general OR procedures is needed. Educational modules must be completed pre-start and annually. Modules are non-billable and time spent is self-reported. There is a daily census of 25 cases. The experience in Epic charting system is required. Interdisciplinary support includes various services such as respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. Patient diagnoses include orthopedics, neurosurgery, vascular, robotics, general, GU, and GYN.
