Position Summary Woodholme Gastroenterology is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our ambulatory care team. The Medical Assistant plays an essential role in supporting providers, promoting efficient patient flow, and delivering high-quality clinical and administrative support. This position is key to ensuring a positive patient experience while upholding standards of quality, safety, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Assist providers before, during, and after patient examinations and procedures. Prepare examination and treatment rooms by ensuring equipment, instruments, and supplies are available and properly organized. Obtain and document patient histories, chief complaints, and other relevant clinical information. Perform routine clinical duties, including obtaining and recording vital signs, height, weight, blood pressure, specimen collection, and administering injections as appropriate. Support efficient patient flow while providing compassionate, patient-centered care. Complete administrative responsibilities including answering phones, scheduling appointments, maintaining provider schedules, ordering supplies, and performing additional office duties as assigned. Collaborate with physicians and members of the healthcare team to support patient safety and quality outcomes. Qualifications Education High school diploma or GED required. Preferred Qualifications Previous Medical Assistant experience in an ambulatory care or physician practice setting preferred. Licensure & Certification Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required for designated practices. Current American Heart Association (AHA) CPR certification required for designated practices.
