Retail Store Manager

With our continued growth, and expansion into the US Market, we’re seeking a Store Manager for our retail store in Vancouver, WA. The Store Manager for Joie Children’s Products Inc. oversees overall store performance, ensuring effective operations, achieving key results, and delivering exceptional customer service. The role manages the hiring, development, and motivation of team members while fostering a supportive culture and premium customer experience. The Store Manager drives team performance, upholds operational standards, and strengthens customer relationships by building brand trust, enhancing product knowledge, and delivering service excellence. As the strategic leader of the store, the Store Manager is accountable for daily operations, sales performance, and operational excellence. The role maintains brand standards, develops a high-performing team, and promotes a positive work environment. Through strong leadership and sound decision-making, the Store Manager ensures the store meets business goals and delivers a premium retail experience for customers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Leadership Foster a positive, welcoming team environment that supports productivity and engagement. Collaborate with cross-store partners and the Regional Manager to drive strategy and execution. Plan and implement store strategy, assess performance, close gaps, and develop community engagement plans using KPI insights. Lead team engagement by modeling company values and connecting individual contributions to store and brand success. Prioritize and assign tasks effectively, leveraging team strengths while maintaining adaptability. People Management Oversee hiring, recruitment, selection, and onboarding to build a strong, high-performing team. Address employee concerns promptly, partnering with HR or the Regional Manager when needed. Lead performance management through regular feedback, recognition, documentation, and issue resolution. Foster an inclusive, respectful environment through open communication and supportive relationships. Manage and oversee workforce planning by forecasting staffing needs related to turnover. Ensure compliance with scheduling and payroll policies while adhering to labor laws. Build and review schedules aligned with labor requirements, team availability, and budget goals. Strengthening engagement and performance through recognition, gap analysis, coaching, and documented development plans. Provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and mentoring to support individual and team growth. Ensure completion of all required training and champion knowledge sharing to enhance team expertise. Operations Develop and execute sales strategies, including planning, budgeting, labor management, and oversight of hiring. Drive results by leading directly from the sales floor to support the business, the team, and the customer experience. Manage full P&L performance to achieve sales, budget, and profitability targets. Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, laws, and regulations. Monitor financial performance through daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual periods to inform decisions. Execute product launches and company initiatives efficiently and on time. Maintain operational continuity by proactively managing disruptions. Customer Experience Lead exceptional customer experiences by modeling strong connections and technical skills and coaching to close gaps. Resolve guest feedback and escalations while protecting the brand and overall experience. Address concerns professionally, actively listening and escalating when necessary. Product Ensure products are stored safely, accurately tracked, and readily accessible for smooth store operations. Drive campaigns, product launches, and promotional initiatives by ensuring timely execution and alignment with brand standards. Maintain expert knowledge of all product features, benefits, pricing, and promotions to effectively communicate value and help customers make informed purchasing decisions. Using strong product expertise, deliver personalized recommendations that help customers choose confidently. Provide knowledgeable, personalized product recommendations, using strong product expertise to guide customers confidently through their options. Provide ongoing training and personal development to keep employees current with new products, policies, and brand expectations. Create and maintain clean, organized, and visually compelling product displays that reflect brand guidelines and enhance the overall customer experience. Requirements and Qualifications Experience and Education Five (5) to eight (8) years of retail or sales-specific management experience. Three (3) years of people management experience, including recruiting, hiring, and holding employees accountable for performance. One (1) year managing business operations and administration, including experience with retail scheduling and management of labor hours, and managing projects. Strong conflict resolution and team-building skills. Sales and Business Acumen Demonstrated success in sales planning and achieving revenue targets Proficient in managing profit and loss (P&L) statements. Skills in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control. Customer Service Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. Ability to resolve customer issues promptly and professionally. Operational Expertise Strong knowledge of inventory management and stock control. Expertise in visual merchandising and maintaining brand standards. Ability to ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations. Analytical and Strategic Thinking Competence in analyzing sales data and performance metrics. Strategic decision-making and problem-solving skills. Adaptability to market trends and operational challenges. Communication and Collaboration Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to collaborate across departments and with external partners. Strong vendor and stakeholder relationship management. Technology Expert Proficiency with: POS systems and retail management software Inventory Management Software Scheduling and Workforce Management Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Systems Payroll and Timecards Systems, Paycom preferred Exceptional MS Office Suite and Internet Skills Proficiency with: Reporting and Analytics Tools Corporate Credit Card Expense Management Software, Bill preferred E-Commerce and digital integration Ability to learn new software proficiently with ease Other Must be eighteen (18) years or older. Employees in non-exempt positions must accurately complete, obtain approval from their manager, and timely submit a timecard in the form provided by the Company, which coincides with the Company's bi-weekly payroll schedule. Store Operating Hours & Availability Monday through Thursday 10:00 am through 7:00 pm Friday and Saturday from 10:00 am through 8:00 pm Sunday 11:00 am through 7:00 pm Full-Time Availability Requirements Four (4) weekdays (Monday through Thursday) with full-day availability Two (2) weekend days (Friday through Sunday) with full-day availability Full day availability means one hour before store opening and one hour after store closing. Working weekends and holidays is required. Please note this role has mandatory blackout dates during the peak holiday season: Black Friday and Black Friday weekend, December 14th through 31st, during which time-off requests are not permitted. Must have flexible availability and be responsible for maintaining store operations through callouts. Be available for scheduled training sessions. The ability to work flexible shifts, stand for extended periods, and lift items weighing up to thirty (30) pounds as needed for showroom maintenance is required. Washington State Pay Transparency Act The hourly rate for this role is $36.06 to $45.67 an hour. The target compensation range and the actual salary are determined by several factors, including specific skills, competencies, years of experience, geographic location, and education, as outlined in the job description.
