Senior Product Owner

Job Summary

The Senior Product Owner - Master Data Management will develop and drive the product vision and strategy for Master Data Management (MDM) capabilities, serving as the bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams to ensure authoritative, consistent, and trusted master data. The role will own the end-to-end MDM product strategy and support product management and delivery execution for data modernization initiatives, with a focus on golden record integrity, data quality, governance, and trusted data assets. The position requires strong product ownership, MDM expertise, data analysis capabilities, and the ability to lead complex, cross-functional change initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and communicate a clear product vision and strategy for MDM capabilities to key stakeholders and delivery teams.

• Own the end-to-end MDM product strategy, defining business value through improved data quality, reduced redundancy, and trusted production data assets.

• Align MDM product features and user stories with the MDM and Data Product Roadmap and prioritize the product backlog accordingly.

• Continuously refine and manage the backlog, ensuring requirements for data matching, merging, survivorship rules, and data stewardship workflows are clearly documented, estimated, and prioritized.

• Incorporate data consumer pain points, data quality metrics, and usability testing results into customer-driven MDM solution design.

• Define and refine master data domains and associated governance models.

• Drive sprint and release planning in collaboration with Scrum Coaches and technology teams.

• Partner with Development Leads to build modular and reusable MDM solutions, including match/merge logic, hierarchy management, and data stewardship capabilities.

• Define and monitor data quality KPIs, stewardship SLAs, and master data health metrics to drive continuous improvement.

• Represent the data team as a principal contact and subject matter expert for Master Data Management.

• Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to drive alignment, influence decisions, and deliver complex MDM initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner.

• 5+ years of data-related experience with a focus on Master Data Management, data delivery, or data governance.

• Solid understanding of the mortgage industry, preferably commercial or multifamily real estate and underlying loan lifecycles.

• Experience delivering large, complex change management initiatives involving multiple teams.

• Strong understanding of Master Data Management concepts, rules, and processes.

• Strong Jira experience.

• Experience with golden record creation, match/merge and survivorship rules, data stewardship, hierarchy management, and reference data management.

• Strong hands-on data analysis skills, including data profiling, data quality assessment, data mapping, data querying, and duplicate identification.

• Experience working with relational and non-relational databases across on-premises and off-premises environments.

• Understanding of MDM-specific architectures.

• Strong collaboration and cross-functional communication skills.
