Assistant Manager

Assistant Shop Manager Position Overview We are looking for a people‑oriented leader with a positive attitude to oversee daily shop operations, train staff, and ensure excellent customer service. The role includes leading a team, managing inventory, maintaining cleanliness, and performing technician duties as needed. Training will be provided in oil change procedures, automotive maintenance, and shop management. Job Responsibilities Check in with customers before they leave the shop to ensure a great experience. Assume full responsibility for shop operations during the Shop Manager’s absence. Manage employee assignments, track vehicle checks, and verify customer satisfaction. Perform opening and closing procedures. Assist with inventory counting and adjustment. Spearhead training and development for shop staff. Serve as a role model and hold team members accountable. Execute all technician duties, including draining oil, changing filters, greasing chassis fittings, washing windshields, adjusting tire pressure, inspecting fluids, assisting customers in selecting oil, processing payments, performing coolant and transmission services, restocking inventory, and maintaining shop, office, and bathroom cleanliness. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Work within a shallow 3‑foot pit around vehicles. Be comfortable walking, standing, bending, stooping, twisting for extended periods. Operate in hot or cold weather conditions. Maintain awareness of surroundings at all times.
