Job Description

The Machine Operator II sets up and operates CNC milling equipment, supports manual machining operations, and performs precision inspections to ensure high-quality production parts. This role works in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and contributes directly to safe, efficient, and repeatable production processes.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC milling machines, including Haas mills, vertical milling machines, and RoboDrills with Fanuc controls, in a safe and efficient manner.
• Load and unload parts into CNC machines, ensuring correct orientation, secure fixturing, and adherence to setup instructions.
• Perform outside operations such as manual drilling, deburring, and other secondary operations using drill presses and hand tools.
• Use electric drills to drill and tap products according to specifications and work instructions.
• Secure fixtures to T-plates using appropriate tools, including torque wrenches, to ensure stable and accurate setups.
• FolEssential Skills
• Ability to operate CNC milling equipment, including Haas CNC mills and vertical milling machines.
• Experience with Fanuc controls and RoboDrill or similar CNC equipment.
• At least one year of experience in machine operation with a Haas CNC or relevant machining experience.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in machine operation.
• Ability to read and write at a High School diploma or equivalent level to follow written instructions and complete departmental paperwork.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, depth gauges, thread gauges, pin gauges, and other dimensional inspection tools.
• Basic math skills to support machining and inspection tasks.
• Understanding and application of lean manufacturing principles.
• Familiarity with lean Six Sigma concepts in a production setting.
• Ability to perform dimensional inspection and interpret measurement results.
• Capability to work in a repetitive production environment while maintaining consistent quality and productivity

Work Environment

This role is based in a high-volume production manufacturing facility focused on CNC machining and related manual operations. The position works on 2nd shift, typically from 2:15 PM to 10:45 PM, with regular schedules approaching 50 hours per week and additional hours available as needed. The facility may offer optional Saturday work for those who are flexible with their schedules. Work takes place in a production setting that is repetitive and process-driven, rather than a job shop environment with frequent one-off jobs. You will work around CNC Haas mills, RoboDrills, Fanuc controls, drill presses, and various hand and power tools, and you will regularly use precision measuring equipment such as calipers, depth gauges, thread gauges, and pin gauges. Safety and quality are central to the work environment, with an emphasis on proper machine operation, secure fixturing, and accurate measurement. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.75 - $22.75/hr.
