General Production Worker

This role involves operating industrial sewing machines to manufacture medical device parts. Candidates will undergo a week-long training class on industrial sewing machines, followed by mentorship on the production floor to learn the production process. Responsibilities include setting up sewing machines with correct threads, increasing production count to the expected output level within 13 weeks, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and ensuring products meet quality standards.

Work Environment

This role is based in a non-climate-controlled contract manufacturing medical device company that has experienced 30% growth over the last year. The production floor consists of 75% industrial sewing machines in a clean GMP environment where hair nets and beard nets are required if applicable. Although it can get hot during summer months, fans are provided at each sewing machine and throughout the production area. Our workforce is diverse, with over 5-6 languages spoken. We accommodate candidates who are not fluent in English by providing opportunities for success with translation technology. The first shift runs from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, with voluntary extended hours from 4:00 am to 2:30 pm and 5 hours on Saturday once production rates are met. The second shift runs from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, with voluntary extended hours from 3:00 pm to 1:00 am and 5 hours on Saturday once production rates are met.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Charles, IL.

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
