Step into a highly rewarding contract opportunity supporting students in specialized classrooms focused on Autism Spectrum support. This role is ideal for educators with expertise in Special Education, looking to make a significant impact in a structured, collaborative environment. The contract extends from now through May 27, 2027, providing stability and the chance to truly connect with your students and school community.
In this role, you will be part of a dedicated team in a classroom setting equipped with Personalized Care Assistant (PCA) support, allowing you to focus on individualized instruction and behavioral strategies. Your day will follow a family-friendly schedule from 7:45am-3:15pm, ideal for work-life balance.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Pennsylvania teaching certificate in Special Education (required)
- Prior experience or strong passion for working in Autism Support classrooms
- Ability to create, adapt, and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Talent for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and dedicated support staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging instruction to students with autism, individualizing lesson plans and supports as needed
- Partner closely with PCAs to ensure students receive consistent, appropriate assistance
- Support the academic, social, and emotional growth of each student
- Monitor progress, write reports, and contribute to IEP meetings as a valued specialist
- Create a nurturing, inclusive classroom that promotes student confidence and achievement
