You will work hands-on with CNC lathes, mills and Swiss-style equipment, solve real machining challenges and help maintain the exacting quality expected in a regulated medical-device environment. The role offers experienced machinists the opportunity to work with advanced processes and demanding materials while contributing to Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement. What you'll be doing Set up and operate CNC lathes, mills and Swiss-style machines using setup sheets, layouts and production requirements Edit CNC programs, adjust machines and troubleshoot machining processes Select and adjust tooling, offsets and machining parameters as needed Inspect machined components to blueprint specifications and accurately record inspection results Perform routine machine maintenance and basic Total Productive Maintenance activities Support root-cause analysis, Lean manufacturing and process-improvement efforts Work closely with Engineering, Quality, management and production teammates Maintain safe, compliant and organized work practices Machines, controls & software CNC lathes CNC mills Swiss-style CNC machines Machine-side CNC program editing Blueprint-driven inspection and production documentation Shop highlights Global leader in medical technology and advanced visualization Independent, family-owned company with a long-term outlook Precision components that support patient care Regulated medical-device manufacturing environment Hands-on CNC setup, operation and troubleshooting Advanced machining processes and exotic materials Lean manufacturing and continuous-improvement culture Collaborative work with Engineering and Quality Stable Monday–Friday second-shift schedule Materials you'll work with Stainless steel Nitinol Nickel alloys Other exotic metals used in precision medical-device manufacturing What we're looking for Required 3–5+ years of CNC machining experience, including machine setup and operation Experience setting up CNC equipment from setup sheets, layouts or technical documentation Ability to read and interpret blueprints and inspect parts to print specifications Experience editing CNC programs and making machining-process adjustments Strong CNC troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Medium to advanced computer skills and comfort with production documentation Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety Preferred Medical-device machining experience Knowledge of GMP, FDA, ISO 13485 or ISO 9001 manufacturing requirements Experience machining nitinol, stainless steel, nickel alloys or other exotic metals Lean manufacturing or continuous-improvement experience Why you'll like working here Make precision components that contribute to life-changing medical technology Work with CNC lathes, mills and Swiss-style machines Use your setup, editing, inspection and troubleshooting skills every day Contribute ideas through Lean and continuous-improvement initiatives Join a collaborative manufacturing team focused on quality Build experience in a highly regulated, precision-focused industry Pay, benefits & schedule Pay: $26.15–$33.27 per hour, depending on experience Schedule: Monday–Friday, 3:30 PM–12:00 AM Work arrangement: Full-time and on-site in Franklin, Massachusetts About KARL STORZ KARL STORZ North America is part of a global medical-technology organization known for advanced visualization solutions, specialty instruments and integrated operating-room technologies.
